Duende restaurant pops up around the Chilterns and beyond, led by Chef Tim Zekki. Tim was well known for his fantastic secret suppers in his delis in Twickenham and Isleworth, where he was a London Finalist in UKTV’s Gary Rhodes’ Local Food Heroes.
Why we’re called Duende
Duende is said to be the hardest Spanish word to translate to English. It’s meaning is akin to spirit, passion, inspiration – a spontaneous feeling arising in creativity. Its particularly relevant to the arts that disappear, that are born and die perpetually, like the performance of a dance or a song.

Duende restaurant has been popping up since 2014, and has so far visited Chesham, Ashley Green, Hyde Heath, Ballinger, Tring, Harpenden, Little Missenden, Berkhamsted & Bray, with tapas events and 3 course set menus. Duende restaurant pop up has even had an event in Kyrenia, Cyprus.
Duende restaurant offers exciting dining experiences around the Chilterns and further afield, with future restaurant events planned in London and the South West. Tim is also happy to cater private events for groups.
All events are bookings only
If you are booking a table of 2 people or more we need a deposit of £10 per head to secure the booking, as orders are placed with suppliers and staff booked ahead for the event. The deposit will be deducted from your bill at the end of the night. Deposits are refundable up to 7 days in advance of your booking.
If you cancel within 7 days of the event we will refund you if we are able to re book the table. If we are able to partially re book the table we’ll refund the deposit for the number of people re booked.
