Duende opens in November 2017 in Somerset

After a few hiccups with new building regulations and red tape, we’re ready to open in November. the soft launch nights are already fully booked, bit we’re now taking bookings after that online at duenderestaurant.co.uk/reservations through OpenTable.

Hope to see some regulars down in the West Country – it is a beautiful area here on the edge of Exmoor, at the foot of the Brendon Hills, near the Quantocks and Blackdown hills. Hopefully we’ll have some pics of the restaurant soon.

A pop up in Wiveliscombe


We’re still in the process of planning permission for our permanent premises in Wiveliscombe, In the meantime we’re going to do an impromptu pop up, to help raise funds for Wiveliscombe Christmas Lights.

A menu will be available shortly, we’re just putting the details together right now. Please email for more info and to book. There’s a prize draw for tickets running at the Wivey Larder, proceeds to go to the Wivey christmas lights fund.

Duende in Somerset

Duende has now moved to Somerset. We’re hoping to be able to open in Wiveliscombe near Taunton in the summer of 2017. There’s a new website for the new Duende restaurant at duenderestaurant.co.uk.

Duende last evenings in Chesham

Duende’s last nights in Chesham are at the Temperance Hall, where it all started back in 2014, I think. Both nights are fully booked, and we have a waiting list for Saturday. After that, we’ll be packing up for the West Country, where Duende will have a permanent base. Thanks especially to all our regulars and to other visitors for their support over the years.  We’re sad we couldn’t find a permanent home for a restaurant here – but new adventures ahead.

Duende at Orchard View Farm

Duende’s latest new location is on a farm near Thame, on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 March.

Orchard View is a rare breed farm tucked away between Princes Risborough and Haddenham, near Owlswick and Great Kimble. It’s a paradise for foodies, with its rare breed animals, traditional farming methods, and fantastic butchery and deli.

The farm is home to traditional Rare Breeds such as Large Black Pigs, Jacobs Sheep, and one of only three herds of White Fallow Deer in the UK.

Orchard View Farm has won oodles of Great Taste Awards for its pork belly, bacon, sausage rolls and pies – they’ve even been awarded for ‘The Best Sausage in South East & London.’

Farm owners Jim & Helen have invited Duende pop up for two nights in their Farm Shop & Cafe, which is chock full of local and artisan produce.

This will be a Bring Your Own wine event, but if you happen to run out of vino, or fancy a local real ale or cider, you can buy from the farm on the night, too.

Unusually for a pop up or supper club, Duende always offers 3 or 4 options for starters and main courses, which can be chosen on the night. There’s always a veggie option for each course, and the price is £35 per person, BYOB with no corkage charged.


Duende on the hill

Duende in Amersham

Duende has been invited to do a pop up residency for two weeks in late September, early October in Amersham.

It’s to mark the refurb and relaunch of Bienvenue, the French restaurant owned by chef Ramon on Sycamore Road. You could say it’s a kind of restaurant warming.

It will be the Duende style food you expect, but a la carte, and Ramon will be supplying the wines and other drinks.

The dates are Thursday 29 and Friday 30 September and Saturday 1 October. Then Thursday 6, Friday 7 and Saturday 8 October.

Duende is at The temperance Hall, Chesham on Friday 3rd & Saturday 4 June. It’s £35 for 3 courses plus an amuse bouche. There are 3 choices for starter and mains, 2 for dessert. Bring your own wine, craft beers, whatever floats your boat.
